When a fellow slave turns out to be an embedded operative for the Underground Railroad, Moses Jones and a small band of slaves attempt to escape the brutality of their evil owner, Simon Dred. As the group of runaways make their way through the unforgiving forests of Alabama, they are unaware of the treachery that is running with them and the dangers that follow close behind. Their escape soon triggers a set of events that will eventually force Moses into a secret world of revenge, espionage and murder.

As Moses and his fellow runaways make their way through the treacherous wilds of Tennessee, they find themselves fighting a bloody war in the wilderness against the enraged slave hunter, Max Cain, and his men. But they soon find out that two of their own are hiding powerful secrets. Secrets that will derail their run for freedom and change the course of their lives forever.

And while the city prepares for inevitable civil war, another battle will be waged in the streets as Dred unleashes his own violent revenge against the Underground and his former slaves. Two powerful forces will finally collide. And the fallout from the epic conflict will leave Moses with a burden too heavy for him to carry alone.
